Journaling

Take from me this beating heart,
and bleed upon the page.
Take from me the fear of life,
and free me from this cage.

Give to me another day
(and hope for something new)
Give to me a quiet life
and help me carry through.

As I write, I pray for these
(and many other things)
Giving purpose to my words
as pen and paper sings.

Consider this and every word
(with meaning to explore)
As I bleed upon the page
to live forever more.
