Providence

Providence is smiling,

her wide and toothy grin.

It sounds of silent Beckoning,

and shines a light within.

She came to me with purpose.

The promise of new life,

found beyond the constant pull

of never ending strife.

“Truthfully, there is a cost,”

she whispered in my ear,

“To find the peace that you desire

your feet must walk through fear.”

“The air will quake and tremble,”

(This test a mighty foe)

“You’ll fight with Truth Eternal

and have no place to go.”

“Reality will rear his head

and try you to the core.

But all of this must come to pass,

before your heart may soar!”

Her words were few but heavy,

and weighed upon my soul.

Could I cross the endless gap,

and come back truly whole?

A journey fraught with peril,

and almost certain pain.

Where only one thing stands for sure,

I’ll never be the same.
