From the End

March 12th, 2019

“I was struggling and found myself staring out the window as the wind pushed and pulled on a tree. I tried to consider how the tree might feel about things if it had similar feelings to my own. Much good comes to a tree from the wind but it doesn’t know that. Similarly we can’t imagine that any good could come from our trials but there is someone who has a greater perspective than our own.”

-Elder Joshua Day

Once a hole was dug,

and a simple seed was planted.

He knew not why, for he could not see:

The End from The Beginning

Growth was seen throughout the years,

a simple seed no more.

Branches waved up to the sky, and dance upon the wind.

He cast his shade on those below, but could not see:

The End from The Beginning

Tall and strong this oak tree grew, until they cut him down.

With naught to do He wondered why

For he could not see:

The End from The Beginning

Brought down low, or so He thought

This tree that once gave shade

Is now the handle on a spade, by which a hole was dug

Where once was pain is now new sight

The

End

from

The

Beginning
