A Tale, Never Ending

In a world of stories

(and each one with an end)

depression stands in prominence,

my one and only friend.

As often as a chorus

(sings out within a tune)

I trust in one reality,

I’ll see Him very soon.

The weight that comes a calling

(and threatens every hour)

crashes down, an avalanche;

with devastating power.

And so I live courageously

(no doubts when I’m alone)

for I know within my heart,

He’ll find his way back home.

He sits with me in sorrow

(and knows my every thought)

He finds in me such misery

(what life has always wrought)

He brings both pain and suffering

(as surely as the end)

but at least I know for sure,

He’ll always be my friend.
