The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.
— G. K. Chesterton

As I was preparing to create this website I recognized a need for quotes. The subsequent searching proved fruitful, inspired certain aspects of this site, and brought me across this hidden gem.

The late Gilbert Keith Chesterton “was an English writer, philosopher, lay theologian, and literary and art critic” (or so Wikipedia would lead me to believe). Unfortunately, this brief summation did little to explain the quote I grew to love. Regardless of it’s origins, I wrote this one for you G. K.

A haiku:

“Poems smell like cheese,

Gouda, specifically.

I couldn’t say why.”
